THE MUNICIPAL LANDMARK AND MINI-MUSEUM

They call it a giant chicken statue. Perhaps, it is. But it is not just a mere rooster-shaped building; rather, it is a landmark and a mini-museum. Inside is a dazzling array of handicraft collections, local products, souvenir items and memorabilia. The rooftop provides a bird’s-eye view of the whole town. Entrance is priced at Php 10.00 for children, Php 20.00 for adults and Php 40.00 for foreigners.

This unusual structure is around 30 ft. tall and stands in front of the municipal hall. It is said to be the most prominent stopover in town. Many people from other places who have happened to pass by the said landmark were hooked by its remarkable figure and colossal size. In fact, they took pictures of  themselves featuring the gigantic structure.

Now it is starting to become renowned across the country, and this has been made possible through the help of  mass media and the internet. The must-see tourist spot has been featured in the current affairs television shows such as the GMA 7’s Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, and the ABS-CBN’s Rated K (January 16, 2011 episode) and TFC Connect (August 24, 2010 episode).

Seems like these boys are having their coolest shot. Crossing their arms and tucking their hands into their armpits made them look cute and adorable.

Just in front of the municipal landmark is the old version of it, which has never been wrecked because of its historical value. Though it is also resembling a rooster it is of the chick size compared to the new one.

TINAPI BEACH

Just alongside the highway at the western outskirts of Poblacion lies an open beach, which is like 1 kilometer from the main town. It is named after the coastal sitio of Tinapi where it is exactly situated.

Tinapi Beach is fairly accessible to the public.  In fact, it is one of the most occupied  during San Juan Day when residents of Poblacion line the shore for a bathe to celebrate and honor St. John de Baptiste.

With its dramatic view, Tinapi Beach is more of an ordinary landscape. It offers an invitingly calm atmosphere with gently bracing breezes and lush beachfront greenery.

The following are photos of Tinapi Beach that may further describe its features:
